That was my day. I had meetings from 8:00am {Economic anyone?} up until 2:00pm. After an hour break, I had 2 more meetings. {I honestly don't remember eating lunch today} Plus, I have to get ready for a IEP, conference, sub plans, blog stuff, laundry... My list goes on and on...
My point is not that of complaints, because it was a really good day. My point is that through out the day, I never once felt like I was rushed or stressed... I loved every single minute of today. It could have been the Mad Men inspired outfit I had on that made me feel fabulous, but I know more then that it was grace. I knew that even if I fell flat on my face today, I would be covered with an abundance of grace.
One of my favorite passages is in Hebrews... Specifically Hebrews 11:2-3
Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. 2 This is what the ancients were commended for. 3 By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.I knew that today was out of my hands and that God placed all of this on my plate for a reason. That today was meant to be busy, but not stressful. That there was a lot of hope to be placed in the unseen moments of the day.
As I am sitting here writing this, I know it is almost time to get to bed. But I can't help to still smile. It was an amazing day. Even if it wasn't out of the ordinary and extremely busy!
What are some of your hold one to verses or phrases? Have you ever experienced a day like mine? Please share, because I would love to hear!

As a teacher, I can TOTALLY relate to this post. Monday I woke up at 7:11. I typically wake up at 5:30 and I'm supposed to pick up my carpool partner at 7:00 and be to work by 7:30. What a way to start the week! I ended up getting an email at 8:00 saying the staff meeting had been cancelled. Thank you Jesus. #thesmallthings
ReplyDeleteWoot! Cancelled meetings are totally a blessing! How was your week, Lins?
DeleteJeremiah 29:11- For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
ReplyDeleteand my personal favorite:
Joshua 1:9- Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
I love Jeremiah29:11! I repeat it all the time! I will have to memorize Joshua 1:9 not also...
DeleteI'm doing a 20 day devotional with my church and the verse to memorize today was John 14:27 "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."
ReplyDeleteI began my day really good, spent some time reading God's word, but I got some anxiety about my wedding and money, etc. My day definitely went for a turn and it just wasn't going good. But then I got to work and it was silent for a moment and I remembered the verse for today, reminding me not to be afraid... Wow I knew God was with me in that silent moment reminding me not to worry!
Thanks for sharing your story :)

Deleteyes. His peace is not quietness of the world, it is quietness of the soul. I am glad that even in a busy day you found rest in the Father!
